The Final Day, Sunday July 5, 2015: The Triumph
It is a great moment for the Greek people, for all the oppressed all over Europe, all over the world. OXI, a defiant, proud, massive popular NO has triumphed against the arrogant ultimatum posed by the imperialist institutions of the IMF and the EU for a permanent barbaric austerity.
About 62 per cent of the voters supported the No. Only about 38 per cent voted Yes. In the working class areas the vote was raised into an incredible 70-80 per cent! The infamous leader of the Right Official Opposition, of the New Democracy, Samaras had to resign.
La più grande manifestazione di massa che Atene abbia mai conosciuto dalla caduta della dittatura nel 1974 ha avuto luogo oggi, ultimo giorno della campagna per il referendum del 5 luglio, ed è stata la manifestazione per il "no" all'ultimatum della troika. Era paragonabile, se non anche più grande, alla manifestazione del 12 febbraio 2012. Quella manifestazione fu convocata contro il PSI (Private Sector Involvement), l'haircut del debito estero in particolare verso i prestatori privati, combinato con le nuove misure draconiane d'austerità portate avanti dal governo extraparlamentare di Papademos, imposto arbitrariamente alla Grecia dall'Unione Europea nel novembre 2011.
1974’te diktatörlüğün çöküşünden beri Atina’nın gördüğü en büyük kitle eylemi, Troyka’nın ültimatomuna karşı HAYIR’ı savunmak üzere, 5 Temmuz Referandumu için siyasal kampanyanın son günü olan bugün gerçekleşti. Eylem, 12 Şubat 2012’deki kitle eylemiyle kıyaslanabilir ölçekteydi, tabii ondan daha büyük değilse. Önceki eylem, AB tarafından Kasım 2011’de Yunanistan’a keyfi olarak dayatılan parlamento-dışı Papadimos hükümetince yürütülen, bilhassa özel sektöre olan dış borçlara “saç traşı” uygulamasını yeni acımasız kemer sıkma tedbirleriyle birleştiren sözde “Özel Sektör Katılımı”na, karşı yapılmıştı.
Referandumun kıyamet günü yaklaştıkça gerilim hızla yükseliyor. Neredeyse tüm burjuva medyası kamuoyunu manipüle edip 5 Temmuz’daki referandumda Troyka’nın ültimatomuna “Evet”in zafer kazanmasını sağlamak için yoğun biçimde korku pompalıyor. Bu çabalar, Avrupa Komisyonu’nun, AB Konseyi’nin, Avrupa Merkez Bankası’nın, Avrupa Parlamentosu’nun başkanları, Şansölye Merkel ve onun maliye bakanı Schäuble, Fransa Cumhurbaşkanı Hollande ile maliye bakanı ve diğer herkesin dur durak bilmeyen kışkırtıcı açıklamaları ile eşgüdümlü bir şekilde devam ediyor. Tüm bu kişiler kendi emirlerine “Evet” oyu verme çağrısı yapıyorlar ve şimdi de Çipras hükümetinin devrilip yerine bir “ulusal birlik” hükümetinin ya da atanmış teknokratlardan oluşan bir hükümetin gelmesini açıkça savunuyorlar. Demokratik Avrupa emperyalizmi, adına yönettiği parlamenter demokrasinin boğazlanmasını açıkça talep ediyor.
The biggest mass rally that Athens has known since the fall of the dictatorship in 1974, took place today, the last day of the political campaign for the Referendum of July 5, in defense of the NO to the ultimatum of the troika. It was comparable, if not larger than the mass rally in February 12, 2012. That earlier rally was called against the PSI, the so-called ‘Private Sector Involvement’ - the “haircut” of foreign debt, particularly to private lenders, combined with new draconian measures of austerity - carried out by the extra-parliamentary Papadimos government that had been arbitrarily imposed on Greece by the EU in November 2011.
L'accumulo di tensione accelera con l'avvicinarsi del giorno del referendum. La paura di massa, coltivata intensamente da quasi tutti i media borghesi per manipolare l'opinione pubblica al fine di far vincere il sì, si combina con continue prese di posizione provocatorie dei capi della Commissione europea, del Consiglio europeo, della BCE, del Parlamento europeo, dalla Cancelliera Merkel e dal suo ministro delle finanze Schäuble, dal Presidente francese Hollande e dai suoi ministri e via dicendo. Tutti sono ai loro ordini, nel fare appello al "sì" e nel rivendicare - adesso apertamente - le dimissioni del governo Tsipras e la sua sostituzione con un governo di "unità nazionale" o di tecnocrati nominati. Il democratico imperialismo europeo chiede apertamente lo strangolamento della democrazia parlamentare, in nome della quale esso stesso governa.

Avrupa Birliği Konseyi, Avrupa Birliği’nin Yunanistan’a verdiği ültimatomun oylanacağı referandumu “yasadışı” ilan ederek engellemeye çalıştı ama başarısız oldu. Ancak, referandumun iptal edilmesi yönündeki baskılar ülke içinden de geliyor. Bu basınç, yalnızca sağ kanattan ve daha küçük öteki burjuva partilerinden değil, Syriza içinden, partinin tanınmış kadrolarından (Avrupa Parlamentosu’na Syriza listesinden seçilen iki milletvekili olan “Yeşil” K. The build-up of tension is accelerating as the D-day of the referendum approaches. The intensive cultivation of mass fear by nearly all bourgeois media to manipulate public opinion for a victory of the 'Yes' to the troika's ultimatum on July 5 is coordinated with non-stop provocative statements by the heads of the European Commission , the European Council, the ECB, the European Parliament, by Chancellor Merkel and her finance minister Schäuble, by the French President Hollande and his minister et tutti quanti calling for a 'Yes' to their orders and, now, openly for an overthrow of the Tsipras Government to be replaced by a new government of “national unity” or a government of appointed technocrats. Democratic European imperialism demands openly the strangulation of parliamentary democracy, in the name of which it governs.
Tension and pressures are increasing every day. The European Council tried -unsuccessfully- to prevent the coming Referendum on the EU ultimatum to Greece as ...“illegal”. But pressures to cancel the referendum came also from within the country, not only from the Right wing and the other smaller bourgeois opposition parties, but also from within Syriza, from well-known cadres of the party, members of the European Parliament elected on the Syriza list (the “Green” K. Chrysogonos and the journalist St. Kouloglou) and left intellectuals, such as the “Third Worldist” Kostas Vergopoulos, well-known in France and Latin America.

Ma le pressioni contro il referendum vengono anche da dentro il paese. Non solo dalla destra e dagli altri piccoli partiti dell'opposizione borghese, ma anche dall'interno di Syriza, da suoi dirigenti ben conosciuti, da suoi europarlamentari (il "verde" K. Chrysogonos e il giornalista St. Kouloglou) e intellettuali di sinistra, come il terzomondista Kostas Vergopoulos, ben noto in Francia e in America Latina.
The battle for the Greek Referendum for a "Yes" or "No" vote on July 5 to the new barbaric “austerity” measures, demanded from the impoverished Greek people by the recent ultimatum from the IMF/EU/ECB as the only way to “avoid” collapse and Grexit, is escalating every day.

More than 200 thousand people assembled in Syntagma Square, in front of the Greek Parliament in a tremendous mass rally supporting “No”, in the coming Referendum on July 5 for the ultimatum posed by the EU, the ECB, and the IMF to Greece to accept a new round of measures of social cannibalism or to be evicted from the Euro-zone (the infamous “Grexit”) and then from the EU. The days of the historic popular mobilizations in the years 2010-12, when first the troika of EU/ECB/IMF with the willingly servile Greek bourgeois governments imposed the infamous “bail-out” programs tied with the “Memorandum” of draconian measures of “austerity” to save their banks by starving the people of a bankrupt Greece.
24 Mayıstaki yerel ve bölgesel seçimlerin sonuçları, İspanyol devletinde yeni bir siyasi depreme yol açtı. 2011 sonbaharından bu yana mutlak çoğunlukla iktidar olan Partido Popular (Halk Partisi, PP) çok büyük bir darbe aldı: hâlâ oyların aslan payı onda olmasına rağmen, iki buçuk milyon oy kaybetti ve büyük ihtimalle önemli bölgelerin ve şehirlerin yönetimini kaybedecek. Alla fine, nonostante tutte le deviazioni, i zig zag e le derive della storia, la logica della lotta di classe ha messo il suo sigillo sulla politica turca. La sonora sconfitta di Recep Tayyip Erdogan e del suo AKP alle urne delle elezioni generali del 7 giugno fa emergere apertamente la perdita di peso politico di Erdogan in seguito ai successivi colpi infertigli negli ultimi due anni per mano delle masse e, in parte, dei suoi ex partner.
Quasi esattamente due anni fa, le masse scendevano per le strade di tutta la Turchia per chiedere le dimissioni del governo Erdogan, che era allora Primo ministro, protestando non solo contro il progetto della demolizione di Gezi Park nel centro di Istanbul e della costruzione al suo posto di un centro commerciale, ma soprattutto contro la generale soppressione delle libertà e la politica guerrafondaia e di supporto al settarismo religioso in Siria.
So at long last, despite all the meanders and sideways and detours of history, the logic of social struggles has finally put its stamp on the politics of Turkey. The resounding defeat of Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his AKP at the polls in the 7th June general elections in Turkey brings out into the open a loss of political clout on the part of Erdogan as a result of the successive blows he received in the last two years at the hand of the masses and, partly, his erstwhile partners.
Los resultados de las elecciones locales y autonómicas del domingo 24 de mayo han supuesto una nueva convulsión política en el Estado Español. El Partido Popular (PP, derecha), que gobierna con mayoría absoluta desde el otoño de 2011, sufre un golpe político extraordinario: aunque sigue siendo el partido más votado, pierde dos millones y medio de votos y, con toda probabilidad, el gobierno de regiones y ciudades importantes. El apreciable descensode los dos principales partidos, PP y PSOE(socialdemócrata), en las elecciones europeas del año pasado (hasta ese momento el voto combinado de los dos alcanzaba más del 70%, ahora está en torno al 50%) se ha confirmado.
The results of the local and regional elections on 24 May entailed a new political earthquake in the Spanish state. The right-wing Partido Popular (the Popular Party, PP), in power with an absolute majority since the autumn of 2011, suffered a tremendous political blow: although it still has the lion’s share of the votes, it lost two and a half million votes and will lose, in all likelihood, the government of the important regions and cities. Thus, the remarkable decline of the two main parties, the PP and the social-democrat PSOE (the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party) in last year’s European Elections has been confirmed (until then, the total vote of these parties was more than 70%, while now it is around 50%).
Europa se ha convertido en el epicentro de la crisis capitalista mundial que comenzó en 2008, irresuelta en cada uno de sus aspectos -social, económico, político, geopolítico. El "estancamiento secular", la recesión y las presiones de la deflación afectan a la Unión Europea más que a cualquier otro grupo de países, con millones de personas sin empleo, vivienda, servicios de salud o educación.

Avrupa, dünya kapitalizminin 2008’den bu yana çözülemeyen çok yönlü -sosyal, ekonomik, siyasal, jeopolitik- krizinin merkez üssü haline gelmiştir. “Uzun vadeli durgunluk”, resesyon ve deflasyon basıncı Avrupa Birliği’ni diğer tüm ülke gruplarından daha fazla etkiliyor ve milyonlarca insanı işsiz, evsiz, sağlık ve eğitim hizmetlerinden yoksun bırakıyor.
Turkey is going through a period that brings together an electoral process and a big strike movement with a great potential of leaving its imprint on the future of the country. General elections are taking place on Sunday, 7th June. The decisive question in those elections is whether the HDP, People’s Democracy Party, controlled by the Kurdish movement with the support of a series of Turkish socialist parties and groups of different stripes, is going to attain the electoral threshold of 10 per cent required of a party in order to take any seats in parliament. If it does, it will probably have between 60 and 70 seats in a parliament of 550, as its strength is heavily concentrated in the Kurdish region. If it fails to reach that level, on the other hand, the AKP of now-president Tayyip Erdoğan will take all those seats, as the other parties are practically non-existent in the Kurdish region. The HDP hovers precisely around the 10 per cent level in the polls, so the whole country will be holding its breath on the day of the elections.
The metalworkers of Turkey are engaged in a revolt against the low-wage policy of their bosses, organised in the industry association MESS, and against the yellow gangster union Türk Metal in total collusion with the bosses’ organisation. The workers of Renault took the initiative by stopping work on 15th May. The workers of Tofaş, the manufacturer of Fiat cars in Turkey, followed suit the next day. This led to a wildfire of strikes in successive factories, including Magneti Marelli Mako, Ototrim, Türk Traktör, Ford Otosan, and Valeo. Workers at other companies in the metal industry are looking towards the movement as well. At the moment when these lines are being written, a total of way over 20 thousand workers have gone on strike and the action at Renault has already left a week behind. It should be emphasized that this is happening in a country where the right to strike has been constricted by the legislation promulgated under the military regime of the early 1980s and is strictly limited to disputes that arise in the collective negotiating process. This strike, on the other hand, has as its sole source of legitimacy the fighting spirit and the unity of the workers.
A Bursa, une des villes industrielles majeures de la Turquie, les ouvriers du secteur métallurgiques, et en particulier de l’automobile, se sont engagés dans une révolte contre la politique de bas salaires des patrons représentés par l’organisation patronale sectorielle MESS et contre le syndicat jaune Türk Metal, transmission de courroie des politiques patronales. Les ouvriers de Renault ont pris l’initiative de commencer une grève sauvage le 15 mai et ceux de Tofaş, entreprise qui manufacture les voitures Fiat an Turquie, se sont joints à eux le lendemain. Près de six mille ouvriers travaillent dans chacune de ces deux usines. Coşkunöz, usine fournisseur à Renault et Fiat, aussi bien que Magneti Marelli Mako, multinationale qui produit des pièces hi-tech pour automobiles, ont à leurs tours commencé la grève l’un après l’autre. Au moment où nous écrivons ces lignes, un total de 20 mille ouvriers ont entamé une grève sans aucun fondement légal dans un pays où le droit à la grève est circonscrit strictement à des procédures de négociations collectives. Cette grève, par contre, trouve sa seule source de légitimité dans la volonté de lutte et d’unité des travailleurs.
