La Conferencia Anti-OTAN, organizada en línea el 4 de julio de 2026 por el Centro Socialista Internacional Christian Rakovsky y la red de internet RedMed, reunió a ponentes de 22 países de los cinco continentes. La conferencia, que se desarrolló en siete sesiones y duró aproximadamente doce horas, constituyó un paso importante hacia la unión de las fuerzas internacionales decididas a librar una lucha inequívoca e intransigente contra el imperialismo, el sionismo y la OTAN, en respuesta a la Cumbre de la OTAN celebrada en Ankara los días 7 y 8 de julio.
The Anti-NATO Conference, organized online on 4 July 2026 by the Christian Rakovsky International Socialist Center and the RedMed internet network, brought together speakers from 22 countries across five continents. Held in seven sessions and lasting approximately twelve hours, the conference constituted an important step toward bringing together the international forces determined to wage an unequivocal and uncompromising struggle against imperialism, Zionism and NATO, in response to the NATO Summit convened in Ankara on 7–8 July.
4 Temmuz 2026 tarihinde, Hristo Rakovski Uluslararası Sosyalist Merkezi ve RedMed internet ağı tarafından çevrimiçi olarak düzenlenen Anti-NATO Konferansı, beş kıtadan ve 22 ülkeden konuşmacıların katılımıyla gerçekleşti. Yedi oturum halinde gerçekleşen ve yaklaşık 12 saat süren konferans, 7-8 Temmuz’da Ankara’da toplanan emperyalizme, Siyonizme ve NATO’ya karşı tereddütsüz ve ikirciksiz biçimde mücadele etme kararlılığındaki uluslararası güçleri yan yana getirme yolunda önemli bir adım teşkil ediyor.

In Turkey, thousands of workers participated in the exuberant celebration of May Day despite the cold weather and pouring rain in Gebze, which we describe as the capital of the working class. Revolutionary Workers Party (DIP) took part in the Gebze May Day with a disciplined and exuberant contingent consisting of vanguard workers from various sectors, educational and scientific workers, toiling women, and the revolutionary youth. The Gebze May Day became a call for the entire working class of Turkey for a fight for freedom against despotism. This call was also inscribed in the Revolutionary Workers Party’s sign: FREEDOM WILL ARRIVE WITH THE WORKERS!
The passivity of the world's governments regarding the threat by the US president to end a civilization, specifically the Iranian one, one of the oldest on the planet, is astounding, demonstrating that these governments are complicit; their outcry is nothing more than a farce to distract the public.
This short text is meant to advance the debate about the crossroads at which the Iranian left has found itself. The familiar discussion on the alignment of the international anti-imperialist program of communists, and the national revolutionary tasks resurfaces itself today in the context of the war of the US-Israeli regimes on Iran. One recent article titled “There Is No Middle Ground: Either Pro‑Imperialism or Defense of Patriotic–Regional Resistance!” poses the problem as a false dichotomy between “pro-imperialism” vs. “pro-Iranian state”, and offers a solution: equal distance to both warring parties. In a sense, that article poses an alternative dichotomy: “tail ending state powers” vs. “being equally distant to all warring sides”, with the latter approach seen as the correct communist strategy. In this article, we argue that this is an equally false assertion. We argue that important concepts of Leninism are misunderstood in catastrophic ways, reinforcing this false dichotomy.

The following document was sent as an invitation to a Conference to be organised by DIP (Revolutionary Workers Party) in Turkey and EEK (Workers' Revolutionary Party) in Greece on the occasion of the 2026 NATO Summit to meet in Turkey this year in on 7-8 July. The expression "the spirit of Anchorage" originated after the meeting of the American and Russian presidents on August 15, 2025 at the American base Elmendorf-Richardson near Anchorage, a city in Alaska in the United States. It was actively and widely used with laudatory and even enthusiastic comments by Russian officials and in the Russian media. But, as one might assume, this spirit did not justify the hopes placed on it, and after the joint aggression of the United States and Israel against Iran, which began on February 28, 2026 and led in the very first hours and days to numerous casualties among the civilian population of Iran, including the "remote" killing of children, it evaporated according to the statement of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, S. A. Ryabkov and the statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, S. V. Lavrov. In fact, this very spirit had "evaporated" even before it appeared. In the year 2026, the Ramadan holiday of the Muslim world coincides with the Newroz holiday of the peoples of West and Central Asia. For those toiling, impoverished people living under the yoke of Imperialism and colonialism, there has always been a drop of bitterness next to the happy, hopeful, fraternal and peaceful celebrations of these holidays. Today, once again our peoples celebrate these holidays under the backdrop of illegitimate wars, destruction, and massacres of imperialism and colonialism. In Palestine, the Al-Aqsa Mosque is besieged, and bombs rain down upon the Iranian and Lebanese people. The oppression of the Kurdish people and the Kurdish language remains; their most legitimate and rightful demands are met with violent repression or turned into articles of dirty negotiations, blackmail, and threats. In such circumstances, the struggle of the working and toiling classes of Turkey for bread and liberty against capital and tyranny cannot be separated from the struggle of the Kurdish people for emancipation and equality.
