For several months, the United States Navy (USN), in an act of war, blockaded the Venezuelan coast by the Caribbean Sea, intimidating the country through assaults and assassinations. This culminated on January 3rd in a criminal and destructive military operation, and also in the abduction of President Maduro and his wife.
The all-powerful US government, which backed the fascist government of Ukraine with the aim of launching a military offensive against Russia; which, together with Israel, is carrying out genocide in Gaza, attacks and bombings from the West Bank to Iran, passing through Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen; is now undertaking a war and occupation of Venezuela, and immediately threatens the continent of America from Greenland to Colombia, moving towards the prelude of a civil war within its own country.
It is necessary to give the full picture of Venezuela from the beginning, as all news or testimony from the world's regular (pro-imperialist) channels regarding the genocide in Gaza fulfills the requirement of propagating that everything began on October 7, 2023, due to Hamas. In Venezuela, after January 3, all news focuses on peace, calm, tranquility, or amnesty, omitting the demand for punishment of those responsible for the murder of more than 100 Cuban and Venezuelan military personnel and civilians, as well as an unknown number of wounded, during the invasion ordered by Trump. In this case as well, it must be emphasized that the Left, especially the Latin American Left, including the Venezuelan Left, is complicit in this omission, because there can be no peace without justice.
Furthermore, the next point of importance is the speed with which the interim government of D. Rodríguez has implemented US imperial dictates on Venezuela. This can only be understood by noting that it was in the works long before 2026, coordinated and agreed upon by key players from both countries. Among other things, this includes the visit of the CIA director, oil deals by US operators, service companies, and traders, culminating in the reform of the hydrocarbons law, amnesty for imprisoned fascists, the reopening of the US embassy in Caracas, the installation of Laura Dogu as chargé d'affaires in Venezuela, and the appointment of the Venezuelan ambassador to the US. All of this, of course, is without even mentioning the massacre carried out on January 3rd, in the best Fukuyama-esque style of the end of history.
The third, but no less important, point is the situation of Venezuelan workers and their demands. Now, the government has become pro-imperialist, and the opposition, both from the far right and the left, is “anti-imperialist”… against the government. But it is necessary to clarify that this supposed anti-imperialism, as always, is conspicuously lacking in a concrete platform for struggle for the workers and, therefore, for the country.
Now, when we recall where we come from, the Maduro government unloaded the entire economic crisis resulting from the economic sanctions imposed by imperialism onto the workers for years, affecting their wages, collective bargaining, freedom of association, right to strike, pensions, and retirement benefits. Given all these social devastations inflicted on the workers, it is expected that the crumbs that imperialism will authorize for the Venezuelan coffers will excite many, but it is necessary to dismantle that illusion and expose their true intentions, which are not the prosperity of the workers.
We honor those who fell fighting against the US Army's assault troops. These crimes must not go unpunished. They are permanently inscribed on our banner of struggle against the occupation. (Anything else is siding with imperialism.) Venezuela must sovereignly and strategically assume control of its oil and gas production, both natural gas and LPG. Oil workers must fight to take control of PDVSA, united with Pequiven in a single struggle, while simultaneously achieving all their outstanding demands, from a salary commensurate with the cost of basic necessities to independent, class-conscious union management, in combative unity and solidarity with all Venezuelan workers. We demand full control and extraction of oil according to the country's needs, not those of US and European operators, above all.
We stand in solidarity with the Venezuelan workers' struggle against ICE, against the genocide perpetrated by Israel in Gaza, and for the defeat of NATO in Ukraine. We stand with Iran against US imperialism, Israel, its accomplices in Europe, and the Arab governments. We stand with the struggle of the Sahel peoples in Africa against European and US colonialism and their fundamentalist Islamic mercenaries.
For full rights for immigrants!
Down with imperialism and puppet governments!
For the organization of an anti-imperialist front with concrete slogans for struggle!
For the fighting unity of American workers!
