U.S. imperialism, which is the focal point of barbarism and reaction on a global scale, is amassing the American army—the bloodiest and most savage terrorist organization in the world—in West Asia (Middle East). The target of imperialist barbarism is Iran… The reason Iran is being targeted is that it supports resistance against Israeli Zionism, inflicted a major blow on the Zionist entity during the 12-day wars it fought with Israel in the course of the Gaza genocide, and, with all these characteristics, clashes with the interests of U.S. imperialism and its watchdog, Israeli Zionism. In the face of the imperialist aggression we are confronted with, there can be no just or progressive position other than siding with Iran’s military victory and struggling for it. We stand against U.S. imperialism and Israeli Zionism! We stand with Iran!
It is unacceptable to compare any Iranian actor—including the Mullahs—with the reaction and barbarism represented by U.S. imperialism and Israeli Zionism, which have entrenched themselves fully in West Asia and are directing their sights at Iran. History shows us that the policy of neutrality, symbolized in Iraq by the reactionary slogan used by some on the left in Turkey, “Neither Sam nor Saddam,” in the burning reality of war, in fact means supporting the aggressor. The memory is still fresh of the destruction and chaos created by the U.S. occupation, of systematic torture carried out by the U.S., of civilian massacres, and of sectarian bloodletting directly provoked by the U.S. itself. That U.S. imperialism and Israeli Zionism cannot be regarded as the “lesser evil” under no circumstances is a reality that requires no explanation.
Moreover, Trump—who is running headlong toward fascism—and the interests of the American imperialist capital he represents threaten not only the peoples of the region, but all the peoples of the world, and ultimately the US working people themselves. Trump is a response to the deadly crisis into which imperialist capitalism, unable to emerge from the Great Depression, has fallen. Trump’s MAGA ideology and his policies that shatter the world market are the beginning of a fascist expansionism that seeks to reunify the entire world under the shadow of American nuclear power and the boots of American soldiers. Trump is exactly as peaceful as Hitler’s fascism. The road to peace passes through the defeat of the United States everywhere in the world—from Ukraine to Latin America, from Africa to the Pacific—and today in West Asia and in Iran!
The terrorist military buildup by the U.S. in the region against Iran, and its threats of attack, have nothing whatsoever to do with the demands for bread and freedom of either the Iranian people or the other peoples of West Asia. Trump is not coming to help the Iranian people who are struggling for bread and freedom. He is coming to impose imperialist and Zionist interests through war, to suppress the people’s struggle, and to shackle the working and poor people of Iran—of every nationality and from every region—through a handful of Shah loyalists and similar mercenary groups. As it previously did in Iraq and Libya, and now in Venezuela, the U.S. seeks to open Iran’s natural resources to plunder by imperialist corporations. It seeks to enslave the Iranian people. The Iranian people want freedom, not American captivity!
There is no justification or legitimacy whatsoever for the U.S. using Iran’s nuclear program as a pretext for attack. Israel’s unofficial and unregistered nuclear arsenal, obtained under U.S. patronage, constitutes the principal threat to all the peoples of West Asia and the world. Israel is, in the hands of the U.S., virtually an unlicensed handgun—operating outside of any international agreement. All policies pursued by the U.S. under the name of Israel’s security have only one meaning: granting the Zionist massacre network the freedom to commit crimes in security. This freedom includes not only the impunity granted to the Gaza genocide, but also nuclear genocide! In this sense, Iran’s nuclear program—both in its civilian aspect and in its military dimensions—is a legitimate right of self-defense.
Trump’s calls for agreement and reconciliation with Iran likewise lack the slightest sincerity. Trump is not seeking an agreement, but rather forcing Iran to its knees under the threat of terror. What determines the timing of Trump’s attack on Iran is never negotiation processes, but the American terror army’s achievement of sufficient deployment in the region and Israel’s completion of its preparations against possible retaliations from Iran and resistance organizations.
In the context of U.S. preparations for attack, its military bases in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, and—most importantly for us—Turkey, are extremely decisive. While Trump sends a large task force consisting of aircraft carriers and warships to the Persian Gulf as part of preparations for an attack on Iran, he is both staging a show of force and revealing a weakness. The U.S. does not fully trust its military bases in the region in the event of an attack against Iran. Although American-Israeli aggression promises small or large shares of imperialist plunder to collaborationist regimes, all these regimes know that their peoples stand against this aggression, and they are also aware that cooperation with the U.S. will inevitably carry a cost. The crimes of Israeli Zionism increase the cost of cooperating with the U.S. as its protector and instigator. Moreover, U.S. imperialism has never treated its collaborators as equals. Those who serve the U.S. have, in the end, been treated like dogs.
Collaborationist bourgeois and oil sheikhs have always hated and feared their own working people more than they hate imperialists. The other side of this reality is the necessity of integrating the hatred of the working peoples toward imperialism and Zionism with a struggle against collaborationist regimes and governments. Today, we are not only declaring that we stand with the Iranian people for the military defeat of imperialist-Zionist terror; we are also rejecting Turkey’s direct or indirect participation in this aggression.
Turkey must immediately leave NATO! Abandon NATO, demolish NATO!
The İncirlik base, which terrorizes West Asia, and the Kürecik base, which serves as a shield for Israel, must be closed immediately!
In the face of a possible American terror attack, American financial assets must be seized! American property and investments must be expropriated without compensation under workers’ control!
Mobilization of the working people against imperialism and its collaborators!
