Statement of the Central Committee of the EEK (Greece): US imperialism hands off Venezuela!

Defend the Land of Bolivar! For the defeat of the US imperialist war aggression against Venezuela!

For the immediate release of President Nicolás Maduro Moros and of Cilia Flores de Maduro abducted by the Yankee gangsters of the Trump-Rubio ruling fascist Mafia

Down with imperialism!

Imperialist colonizers out of Latin America!

For the United Socialist States of Latin America!

EEK calls on all working class and anti-imperialist movements worldwide to firmly stand with Venezuela, to mobilize in all countries and actively support it in the face of US. imperialist war aggression, colonialism and State terrorism!

The protracted military siege of Venezuela by a gigantic US naval armada, air forces, and thousands commandos, the murderous attacks against vessels under the ludicrous pretext of “narco-trafic”- while, at the same time, US president pardons a known drug trafficker- the piracy of three oil tankers, numerous CIA operations culminated into the barbaric war assault of January 3, 2026.

The US war aggression was waged by air bombings in Caracas, a US commando attack killing at least 80 Venezuelan officers and soldiers including 32 Cubans internationalists, and, last but not least, the brutal abduction of the President of the country Nicolas Maduro with his wife Cilia Flores. The official imperialist lying narrative and non stop fake news campaign spread by controlled mass and social media, can confuse but cannot hide the imperialist thuggery and the real goals of this escalation of war aggression. The vulgar Hollywood -like show presented by “Godfather” Trump surrounded by his acolytes to a phony Press Conference at Mar-a- Lago, was followed by the delirious statements of the fascist President to run indefinitely Venezuela, occupy its land, particularly to steal its oil resources. Furthermore, he expanded the plans of US aggression threatening for war, occupation and colonization, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, all Latin America and the Western Hemisphere, from Greenland at the North , a territory of a NATO/EU “ally” to Tierra del Fuego at the South, in Argentina of Millei, Trump’s the fascist puppet …

These statements are preposterous but they should not be dismissed. There is a historical material source and a logic in this madness.

The source is the decline of US capitalism, the highest point reached by the historical development of world capitalism in the imperialist epoch, and the violent attempt to reverse it, to “Make America Great Again-MAGA” by all means, economic and military,  actually to break its historic impasse by an internationally expanding and escalating imperialist war aggression, bringing humanity at the brink of the abyss of a Third World War.

The logic is clearly exposed in the new US National Security Strategy made public in November 2025.  The priority given in this strategy to domination on the Western Hemisphere by a pompously named to flatter the morbid Presidential narcissism as the “Trump Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine” of 1823. The Monroe Doctrine is a big deal, but we’ve superseded it by a lot, by a real lot. They now call it the ‘Donroe Doctrine.” So said Donald Trump, a few hours after the American war aggression and abduction of Nicolas Maduro.

The “Trump Corollary” asserts a U.S. right to “restore American pre-eminence in the Western Hemisphere” and to deny “non-Hemispheric competitors” — namely, China, the primary strategic antagonist of US — “the ability to position forces or other threatening capabilities, or to own or control strategically vital assets.

The Trump administration is preparing and was already engaged in a much larger assault on the political forces of Latin America that are unpalatable to his administration. There cannot be the slightest doubt that the same is true for the rest of the world. However, the Western Hemisphere is for him a priority region. It should be pointed out that, in opposition to those views that characterise Trump’s foreign policy as “isolationist” and in this case as America withdrawing to the Western Hemisphere, we would emphatically point out that the goal of unrivalled domination over Central and South America is simply for the region to act as a trampoline that will serve to secure Trump’s cherished goal of unquestionable hegemony over the entire planet.

The US imperialist assault to the national sovereignty of Venezuela, a Global South country, includes all the crucial elements of the international US strategy, named as a “National Security Strategy”, to reverse its historic decline and re-establish its world supremacy, both at Global South and Global North.

It needs first of all to establish an undisputed “law and order”, more precisely its law of jungle and a fascist order at home and what it considers as its American backyard”, Latin America and the entire Western Hemisphere.

The hysterical racist anti-immigration rhetoric of Trump Administration slandering Venezuela as a “narcoterrorist State”, and all the Latin American peoples as the cause of social evils in US of, unemployment, criminality, “narcotraffic” etc.  is addressed to the MAGA fascist crowd, the ICE as Presidential Praetorian Guard, and all State repression forces mobilizing them against the “enemy at home”, the workers, oppressed minorities and impoverished people, in conditions of social disintegration and of a drive to a civil war in the making.

At the same time, the goal is “to deny Non-Hemispheric competitors the ability to position forces or other threatening capabilities, or to own or control strategically vital assets in our Hemisphere. This “Trump Corollary” to the Monroe Doctrine is a common sense and potent restoration of American power and priorities, consistent with American security interests”  (National Security Strategy p.15) It is obvious that the targets are the EU to which the new Security Strategy declares not only a trade war but a “clash of civilizations” war, but also Russia and above all China, the primary strategic enemy, which occupies a central economic position all over Latin America with vast investments in infrastructure and loans.

The “restoration of American power” and “American security interests” mentioned above clearly show that the war aggression against Venezuela represents another leap in the imperialist war drive internationally with ultimate strategic goals the US colonization and fragmentation of the former Soviet space and of the People’s Republic of China, returning it to the colonial era of “the hundred years of humiliation”.  In other words, after the NATO proxy war in Ukraine and the Zionist genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza, the war aggression against Venezuela and Latin America is another dramatic moment of acceleration to the plunging to a Third World War.

The reactions of all European bourgeois governments proved again their panic, impotence and servility to US imperialism, their role as accomplices and second rate partners in the world catastrophe in which capitalist imperialism in its advancing decay is dragging humanity.

The champion in hatred against the Maduro Bolivarian regime and servility towards Trump’s thuggery probably is the right wing Mitsotakis government in Greece, where the Greek Prime Minister shamefully fully supported the US aggression on Venezuela, openly dismissing the value of an even hypocritical reference to the so-called “international law”.

In the case of Turkey, given its despotic regime’s loyalty to NATO, its warm relations with Trump, and its support for the Trump plan even in Gaza, where it claims the role of a leader, it is clear that, despite past close diplomacy with Maduro, it will side not with Venezuela but with the imperialists. At most, the despotic regime’s foreign minister may issue a token condemnation or a call for calm in order to appear sympathetic to oppressed peoples. Yet the interests of the Turkish working people lie in cutting all support for imperialism, which has been step by step dragging the world toward a Third World War. The interests of working people in Turkey, Greece, and in all countries of NATO are in abandoning NATO, closing imperialist bases, and fighting to smash NATO itself!

There is no space for an “equal distance” between the US, EU and NATO imperialism and their exploited and oppressed victims in the world, all those resisting neo-colonialism and slavery.

The primary task today to defend Venezuela, to defeat imperialism and a world war catastrophe lies primarily to the struggle of international working class, together and at the head of all popular anti-imperialist movements, in a United Anti-imperialist Front.

It is understandable to have political differences, criticisms, debates between fighters, particularly in turning points of history. But no hypocritical “equidistant” position is acceptable, and any capitulation to imperialism in Venezuela itself and Latin America has to be fought without compromise and defeated. The red dividing line is between oppressors and oppressed, between capitulation to oppression and struggle for liberation.

The imperialist enemy tries to terrorize us with its brutality and the shadow of its past history of unchallenged domination, at the epoch of the ascent and expansion of the capitalist system. The decline of US imperialism represents not the decline of a national capitalism but of the highest point reached by global capitalism. In the imperialist epoch of capitalist decline no military destructive force by itself could regenerate a historically outdated, senile social mode of production in advanced decay.

Let us brake the disastrous impasse by defeating paralyzing defeatism, and fight with confidence for victory against capitalist barbarism, for universal human emancipation, world Socialism!

Proletarians of all world and oppressed nations unite, organize and fight!

No Justice, No peace!

War against the war of imperialism!

Down with imperialism!
