Long Live the Anti-Fascist Victory Day! Down with fascism, freedom to the people!
Workers of the world: unite to wage war against the war of NATO imperialism threatening humanity with extinction!
The struggle for international Socialism is the way for Peace!
The 9th of May 1945, the Day of the Victory of the Soviet Red Army against Nazism will remain forever a source for inspiration for all oppressed and exploited humanity, especially for all generations of fighters against fascism, imperialist war, and capitalist barbarism.
The International Socialist Center “Christian Rakovsky” salutes the Great Day of Victory and pays tribute to the eternal glory and memory of all heroes of the Land of October who have sacrificed everything, including the lives of 25 million Soviet people, to defend the USSR from fascism and to save humanity from catastrophe.
It was the greatest victory after the victory of the Great 1917 October Socialist Revolution, the beginning of the transitional epoch to world Socialism and communism.
The worst tragedy indeed came at the end of the 20th century with the disintegration of the USSR in 1991- a disaster which came from within, from the bureaucratic nomenclatura, not just from the constant hostility of global capitalism and military pressure by Western imperialism and US-led NATO. Now, the same imperialist forces and their willing allies, assisted by the comprador capitalists and oligarchs, have launched a proxy war in Ukraine to complete the 1991 disaster: to fragment the former Soviet space and its Russian heartland, to colonize it and impose fascistic puppet regimes, according the lines of the officially adopted and proclaimed infamous Brzezinski Doctrine. But in this way, not only the peoples of Ukraine and Russia are plunging in an endless nightmare of destruction and death but the entire humanity is brought to the edge of the abyss.
At the time that we are celebrating now Victory Day against Nazism, the latter is raising its hideous head again and monuments to the Nazi war criminal Stepan Bandera are erected again by his followers. As we are celebrating the end of the Second World War, the most terrifying specter of a Third World War gone nuclear with no victors hovers over the planet..
The imperialist war drive has as its source the historic decline and crisis of US and global capitalism. On May Day 2023, the Joint Communique issued by the International Socialist Center “Christian Rakovsky” with the RedMed web network rightly had stressed: “Capitalist imperialism has long become a barrier in the way of the further development of humanity. It is now moribund and threatens to carry all humanity and all living nature to catastrophe and even extinction. The profound economic crisis the world is going through is at heart an expression of this.
In its desperate search for a way out, capitalist imperialism is preparing the ground for fascism and war. The rise of an entire spectrum of racist and retrograde governments is but an outward manifestation of this blind alley. The same is true of the war in Ukraine, a war that is the result of three decades of encirclement of the Russian Federation by NATO imperialism. This is a proxy war led by the Ukrainian leadership on behalf of and with weapons, intelligence, reconnaissance and tactical advice provided by the US, the UK and the EU. Imperialism once again threatens the entire humanity and all living species with death and destruction.”
The immediate duty of the international working class and of all the oppressed peoples of the world is to stop the descent to the abyss, to wage war against the imperialist war of NATO and its driving forces. A victory against the US-led NATO proxy war cannot be achieved solely by military means, The Victory against Hitler’s Nazism on May 9, 1945 could not be achieved without the popular masses’ mobilization in the Soviet Union, the antifascist Resistance of communist-led partisans and masses all over occupied Europe, in an international revolutionary people’s liberation war, as well as the rebellion of the colonial peoples.
The same social forces- the international working class in the metropolitan centers together with all oppressed popular masses in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America need to mobilize today. It is indeed a titanic task. We should not underestimate either the difficulties or, on the other hand, the existing real possibilities and opportunities that may be produced by the same crisis that drives the war. There is an upsurge of masses both in the Global North, particularly in Europe, as the European strike wave and the French workers’ revolt demonstrate, as well as in the Global South. These are the best and most important allies of the peoples of the Russian Federation and the entire former Soviet and East European space to defeat the NATO escalating military aggression.
We urgently need a new Victory against imperialist war and fascism. We urgently need to defeat their war campaign for the colonization of the former Soviet space, primarily of Russia, and also China. We have to reverse the 1989-1991 disasters and create conditions for a Socialist Soviet Renaissance without bureaucrats, capitalists, oligarchs or Bonapartes, a new, genuine Union of Soviet Socialist Republics from Lisbon to Vladivostok.
Following the steps of the heroes that gave rise to the Victory Day of May the 9th, let us unite, organize internationally and fight to raise high again the Red Flag of Socialism, for Peace, Bread and Freedom!
The Red Flag of internationalism in action, of universal human emancipation, of world communism, is the flag of our new Victory!
