Down with imperialist plans on Gaza, and regional collaborations with them!

On September 29, the head of American imperialism, the fascist Donald Trump, and the chief Zionist war criminal, Benjamin Netanyahu, made a joint statement at the White House, announcing their so-called peace plans for Gaza to the world. This 20-point plan, a rare example of imperialist and Zionist hubris, directly dictates surrender and disarmament to the Palestinian resistance organizations like Hamas, while also envisioning Israel's withdrawal from Gaza as a phased process with a series of steps, each open to delay and postponement. While Hamas, which came to power in Gaza through elections, is forced to accept having no political role in the strip, simply because the imperialists and Zionists decided so, Zionist Israel merely declares that it will not annex Gaza and tacitly retains its right to annex the West Bank. Furthermore, the establishment of a Palestinian state, even in its most limited form across Gaza and the West Bank, is rendered almost impossible by this plan. Indeed, Donald Trump's statement during the press conference that Netanyahu is absolutely against a Palestinian state clearly reveals the plan's objectives. In the text of the plan, a Palestinian state is recognized only and solely as “the aspiration of the Palestinian people.” So magnanimous!

Perhaps the only genuine concession in the plan is the release of 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and 1,700 Palestinians imprisoned since October 7, in exchange for the release of Israelis held by the Palestinian resistance. Other than this, the only thing Israel promises is to put the brakes on the ongoing genocide. Moreover, as Israeli occupiers gradually withdraw from Gaza, an International Security Force—made up of soldiers from countries with Muslim populations—is tasked with continuing Israel's dirty work in Gaza and keeping Gaza under occupation. Even the name of the new force to be established is sinister! It's called the ISF, separated by one letter from the English abbreviation used for the occupying Israeli army—the IDF. While the military part of the occupation is taken on by countries with Muslim populations, the process is planned to be managed by an international committee headed by American and British imperialists. At its head will be former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who was nicknamed “America’s poodle” by his own country’s press for his eagerness to do US imperialism’s dirty work during the Iraq invasion.

The only role Palestinians will undertake in this process is that of a kind of Palestinian police force with no real latitude—similar to what currently exists in the West Bank—which would fall under the command of this committee. Even if this plan is accepted, its successful implementation is more doubtful. Even if Hamas and other resistance organizations agree to disarm, and even if the Mahmoud Abbas regime, which has provided the most treacherous examples of collaboration in the West Bank, attempts to apply the same in Gaza, it will not be easy for the imperialists and Zionists to create a network of local collaborators strong enough to control Gaza. Let us not forget that during the genocide process, Zionism—looking for a local ally to groom against the resistance—could not find the collaborators it sought among the ranks of any of the sudry political movements in Gaza and was forced to cooperate with a gangster named Yaser Abu Shabab, who had been imprisoned in Gaza for drug trafficking until the Israeli aggression. Despite Israel's military and logistical support, this force, named Abu Shabab, was only able to be effective in Gaza for a few months and lost its influence after a few armed clashes with the resistance organizations. Indeed, it will not be easy for Zionism and its allies to raise collaborator movements from the ranks of the brave people of Gaza. Even if local collaborators are found, referencing the concise phrase Trotsky used for Nazi-occupied Europe, given that the imperialists, Zionists, and their collaborators cannot place a soldier on every Gazan, they will not be able to prevent the resistance from being reborn.

Precisely because Zionism and its overlord, imperialism, know this, their plan—under the name of the International Security Force—aims to secure support from collaborationist regimes in some Muslim-populated countries. The fact that Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, and Indonesia rushed to make statements in support of the Trump plan, even before Hamas's and the resistance forces' official response was known, immediately after the plan was announced, shows the extent to which they were ready to rush to the aid of imperialism and Zionism. It is understood that Pakistan and Indonesia, in particular, will lead in sending soldiers from these countries, while others will support the process either materially or politically. Depending on the conditions of the war and the struggle, it might be understandable for resistance organizations to even accept an agreement containing very harsh terms. Sometimes the priority may become to gain time, regroup, or provide a space for the people to breathe. Therefore, what we are discussing is not the possibility of this plan being accepted by Hamas and the resistance forces. The issue here is the treachery of the collaborator regimes who, even before the resistance's answer has arrived, want to politically corner the resistance in coordination with imperialism and Zionism.

The answer of the people of Turkey, who a century ago suffered the humiliation of seeing imperialist armies enter their then-capital, Istanbul, and governed through an inter-imperialist arrangement not unlike the plan proposed for Gaza, should be decisive. It seems highly unlikely that the Turkish state, which has a relationship of rivalry – but not one of enmity – with Israel in Syria, will send soldiers to the International Security Force. However, we cannot allow the humiliation of making Turkey a partner in the Trump plan to establish an internationally occupied Gaza—even if only through political support—to be smeared on the working people of Turkey. The enemies of Gaza are the enemies of our working people as well. It will be inevitable that those who dare to take on the task of collaboration for this plan will receive an appropriate response from the working people of Turkey.
