The course of the SMO, i.e., the "special military operation", for almost 3 years has irrefutably proved that, in the words of Sergei S. Udaltsov, the Vlasovites will not defeat the Banderovites. Russian media almost daily report on various kinds of shortages and other "omissions" in the war zone and in the rear, the qualitative and quantitative diversity of which is staggering and, as various political scientists and experts say, raises at least natural questions. At the same time, it is recognized that all these "shortages", "omissions" and "mistakes" are mainly or almost exclusively due to the destruction of the USSR and its catastrophic consequences, including for the defense of the country, the loss and conscious elimination of the achievements of the USSR, primarily in the military field, achievements that turned out to be so necessary today. In particular, in the morning broadcast of “Vesti FM” radio on September 19, 2024, the invited military expert more than emotionally stated that now in the armed forces of the Russian Federation, in addition to technically qualitatively new communications, there are not enough, first of all, “zampolity”, i.e. deputy political officers, i.e., and explained why they were in the Soviet armed forces and what an undoubtedly huge positive role they played, including because they were members of the party. In case of any violations, a party meeting was held and the violator was severely reprimanded, a kind of "black mark", so there was no corruption and could not be, and they did not even know where the military prosecutor's office was located. Then he admitted that the importance and strength of the institute of deputy political officers was not only in party discipline, but also in Soviet ideology. In turn, the host of the program, Vladimir R. Solovyov, having stipulated that now there is no CPSU and no Soviet ideology, agreed that ideology is needed, and, obviously, it should be patriotism, as stated by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir V. Putin. But patriotism is different from patriotism, and it is precisely the Soviet ideology in a new form and quality that is needed now.
It took 5 years for the Soviet Union to defeat the fascist hordes of united Europe and defeat Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War. It is unknown how many years it will take for the Russian Federation to defeat the Armed Forces of Ukraine, only supported by the "collective West" led by the United States politically, informationally, financially and armament, as well as mercenaries from all over the world. The truth of the historical moment is that the Vlasovites and the Banderovites can and will be defeated only by citizens who are, in fact, modern truly Soviet people, as well as a newly reborn new union – the union of the Russian left and non-partisans. Without such an alliance, without a powerful, irresistible popular desire for a new Soviet future, without a struggle for a socialist alternative for the country and the peoples of other countries, with all the relative successes at the front and in the rear, the Russian "ruling elite" will continue to try to sit on two chairs, limit itself to half-hearted measures and steps, pursuing a contradictory policy, protecting themselves and acting primarily in their own interests, and not in the truly national interests, in the interests of ordinary people who have neither capital nor "partners" in the "collective West".
That is why, we emphasize again and again, Russian communists belonging to different political parties, all Russian leftists and all citizens who remained or became Soviet non-partisans in their beliefs and actions have a huge and special responsibility. It is up to them, in the end, what kind of victory will be won as a result of what has received the official name of the SMO, and in which direction the country, other former republics of the USSR and even other countries, including the states of the "collective West", will develop after this victory.
