The 15th Camp of EEK was successfully held from Wednesday 26th July to Sunday 30th of this month, in Evia’s Eretria. The high temperature of the days, did not deter comrades from all over the country and abroad, to take part in the work of the Camp, enjoying at the same time the recreation with collective life, work and effort for the conception of the New, in the situation that is being formed internationally and in the Greece.
The basic direction of the collective theoretical work in the camp was given by the initial presentation of comrade Savvas Michael, on the topic "A Changing World: Crisis, War, Uprisings".
Important was the contribution of the presentations of the international partners of EEK to the Christian Rakovsky International Socialist Center, analyzing the situation in their countries, regarding the issue of the NATO war in Ukraine, from the point of view of the situation and struggles of the workers movement. Internationalists fighters from Turkey (DIP), Finland (MTL) and France (ROR), spoke about the consequences of the imperialist war in Ukraine, about the class struggle and the international situation in the next period. An entire topic was also dedicated to the particularly important presentation of the comrade from France, in relation to the great struggles that shook the country of the Commune and May 68. There was also an extensive report of the cadre of the brother Party of EEK in Turkey, DIP, for the situation in the country after the elections. Of great political importance for this international meeting, were also the supportive messages of greetings from Russia and South Africa, on behalf of the comrades who, due to significant difficulties, it wasn’t possible this time to come.
During the camp, which was organized in a warm comradely atmosphere, discussion group meetings were held in the afternoon with the participation of all comrades, based on the topics and suggestions of the morning sessions. On the evening of Friday, July 28, the rare documentary (1919) by the great Soviet director Dzhiga Vertov about the October Revolution was shown, highlighting the central role of Trotsky. The next day, we enjoyed the music night and the established but always unique Saturday feast. All these days the participants enjoyed, once again, the well-known successful collective cuisine.
The camp ended on Sunday, July 30 at noon, after the presentation to the plenary session of the main first conclusions of the work, by comrade Savvas Michael. In the end, we did not omit stress and our direct political-practical duties in front of the anti-government demonstration in Salonica on 9th of September and the participation of EEK in the municipal and periphery elections of October of 2023.
The texts from the basic presentations of the speakers are going to be published in a special edition the next period. The struggle for the development of revolutionary theory of marxism, as a guide for the revolutionary struggle of the proletariat, is necessary and topical as ever.
